Daniel helps clients navigate a rapidly evolving and complex regulatory environment. Whether in the courtroom, in the context of an enforcement action, or in a transactional setting, Daniel brings his unique experience to help clients strategically engage with the government.
Daniel is a member of the firm's Regulatory Investigations, Strategy + Enforcement (RISE) Practice Group and State Attorneys General team. He counsels clients in connection with navigating complex government investigations, regulatory compliance, and transactions, involving state and federal government contracting obligations. Drawing on his broad experience as a former assistant attorney general for the state of Illinois, Daniel is a problem solver both inside and outside the courtroom.
Daniel focuses his practice on the intersection of industry and government. He regularly counsels clients in connection with government contracting obligations under the Federal Acquisition Regulations; domestic preference programs; the National Defense Authorization Act; and small business set-aside programs. Daniel also counsels clients in the areas of emerging technology, cybersecurity, and privacy compliance under state and federal law. When companies become the target of a government inquiry or investigation, Daniel is equipped to work with his clients to achieve sophisticated results.
In his spare time, Daniel is an active member of the Young Professionals Board for the Center for Disability and Elder Law, which provides vital pro bono legal representation to Chicago's most vulnerable communities in a wide variety of matters. Additionally, Daniel is an author and contributor to the firm's Regulatory Oversight blog.
