Greg has extensive experience litigating complex commercial disputes before judges and arbitrators in jurisdictions throughout the U.S. He has represented clients in cases involving contract claims, construction disputes, breaches of fiduciary duty, consumer fraud, products liability, unfair competition, antitrust, professional malpractice, and securities fraud. His clients have included health care companies, medical device manufacturers, energy providers, software developers, and retailers. He also has significant experience representing defendants in class actions and has successfully defeated numerous motions for class certification.

Before joining the firm, Greg served as in-house counsel for Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc., where he handled disputes and litigation matters for Siemens’ family of health care companies. At Siemens, he provided guidance to senior executives regarding a wide variety of legal issues affecting the business. He also provided advice in connection with the negotiations of contracts involving the sale of medical equipment, software licenses and health care services.

Greg also previously worked as a certified public accountant at Arthur Andersen LLP.

  • Obtained a $35.5 million arbitration award following a two-week, 22 witness evidentiary hearing against an engineer that specified and furnished defective equipment for three solar facilities resulting in the production of significantly lower amounts of electricity than promised to the off-takers.
  • Secured a defense verdict in a jury trial brought by a former salesperson who claimed to be owed unpaid commissions under a broker agreement on sales of food service products he allegedly procured.
  • Obtained dismissal of a complaint brought against an online real estate auctioneer who was alleged to have deceived bidders into buying properties by failing to disclose encumbrances on the properties.
  • Won an $11 million arbitration award against a contractor that failed to timely erect electricity-producing wind turbines and properly restore the project site to the owner’s reasonable satisfaction.
  • Secured the intellectual property rights to an invention made by a former employee of an industrial heat exchanger manufacturer who misappropriated confidential and proprietary information in an effort to market a competing product for his personal gain.
  • Obtained a defense verdict for a medical device manufacturer in a breach of contract action decided through one of the first-ever virtual trials presided over by a federal court during the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Won an arbitration award for the owner of a power plant by defeating a contractor’s claim for force majeure relief and prevailing on a multimillion-dollar counterclaim relating to the defective civil design of a stormwater management system.
  • Secured an order excluding plaintiff’s technical and valuation experts on the eve of trial thereby rendering the plaintiff unable to prove its $44 million damages claim against a video streaming software developer.
  • Prevailed on an interlocutory appeal by obtaining a reversal of a trial court’s denial of a motion to dismiss claims arising from an alleged conspiracy to eliminate a competing distributor.
  • Won an arbitration award and recovery of attorneys’ fees for an energy company that sought amounts due under a series of agreements relating to the acquisition of an oil refinery.
  • Prevailed on a motion to dismiss claims against a foreign software manufacturer on the ground that the American court lacked jurisdiction due to its limited activities and contacts in the United States.
  • Won the dismissal of a lawsuit in which a former hospital patient sought damages arising from an alleged data breach of health information.
  • Secured a permanent injunction for a retailer of hearing aids after a former employee misappropriated certain trade secrets when she left the retailer’s employ and opened a competing business.
  • Represented medical device companies in various products liability cases where plaintiffs claimed to have been injured while undergoing medical procedures.
  • Won dismissal of a nationwide class action brought on behalf of tens of millions of computer users who were allegedly deceived into installing anti-infringement software onto their computers.
  • Negotiated favorable settlements in several class actions alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act.
  • Won summary judgment for an investment bank in a class action brought on behalf of bond issuers who claimed that the bank violated state law by failing to return unclaimed bond funds.
  • Won a partial dismissal of a securities fraud class action complaint against the officers of a publicly traded funeral home and cemetery company.
  • Secured a reversal of class certification on appeal in an antitrust case against a software manufacturer in which indirect purchasers of the software claimed to have been overcharged when they purchased the software.
  • Won the dismissal of a class action brought against a tax advisory firm on behalf of delinquent taxpayers who claimed to have been misled by the firm’s advertising practices.
  • Achieved an appellate court affirmance of the dismissal of a class action against a Big 4 accounting firm brought by stockholders who claimed to have been defrauded by misrepresentations in financial statements.
