Jonathan manages class action and individual litigation with a primary focus on consumer law, business disputes and commercial disputes. He has particular experience in Kentucky and West Virginia, where he has successfully tried cases before both state and federal courts.

Jonathan is counsel in the firm’s Consumer Financial Services practice, with a focus on representation of national clients in federal and state courts. Jonathan routinely defends financial services companies in litigation under various federal statutes and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and Regulation Z.
Jonathan has defended clients in hundreds of cases against claims under the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act (WVCCPA) and Kentucky Consumer Protection Act in both state and federal courts. He has successfully argued that the WVCCPA should be interpreted in line with the FDCPA, and has been successful on appeal before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Jonathan’s clients range from Fortune 100 corporations to startups, allowing him to effectively work with in-house legal departments as well as business leaders.
