Julie defends clients in class actions involving federal and state antitrust statutes, such as price fixing and boycott claims under the Sherman Act. She also handles consumer class actions related to fraud and statutory violations. Julie’s appellate work includes cases before the Second, Seventh, and Eighth Circuits.

In addition to antitrust and consumer litigation, Julie enforces restrictive covenants and litigates trade secret misappropriation claims across various industries, including financial services, health care, and consulting. She secures injunctions to prevent irreparable harm and prosecutes damages claims for contractual violations and trade secret theft.

Julie also handles a wide variety of other litigation involving unique issues important to clients, such as contract disputes.

Antitrust Class Action Litigation

  • Represents a national university as lead counsel in class action pending in the United States District Court for the District Northern District of Illinois where plaintiffs allege that the College Board and 40 universities violated Section 1 of the Sherman Act by agreeing to collect noncustodial parent financial information through the College Board’s CSS Profile, a standardized financial aid application that educational institutions may opt to use to collect information about an applicant’s need for financial aid. Hansen v. Northwestern University, et al.
  • Representing a large financial institution in class actions involving antitrust and commodities fraud claims relating to alleged manipulation of the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) and other benchmark interest rates.
  • Representing a large financial institution in class actions involving antitrust claims relating to alleged manipulation of foreign exchange benchmarks.
  • Representing a large insurance company in multidistrict litigation involving lawsuits filed by auto body shop owners throughout the U.S. alleging antitrust violations.
