Overview

Matthew is an attorney in the firm’s Consumer Financial Services practice. While representing a wide range of financial services companies, Matthew focuses his litigation practice on defending financial institutions against class actions and individual claims involving loan origination, servicing, and investments. This experience includes defending against lawsuits brought under federal statutes such as RESPA, TILA, FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, EFTA, and UDAAP, as well as state law analogs. Matthew’s litigation experience includes strategically formulating and analyzing claims and defenses, drafting pleadings and motions, consulting and prepping witnesses, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions in court, preparing for jury trials, and more.

Matthew provides ongoing analysis and commentary on developments in the consumer financial services industry, with a focus on regulatory developments, through the Consumer Financial Services Law Monitor blog.
