Matthew is an associate in the firm’s Insurance + Reinsurance Practice Group. He received his J.D. from William & Mary Law School, summa cum laude, where he was a member of the editorial board of the William & Mary Law Review and also a member of the Order of the Coif at William & Mary Law School.

While in law school, Matthew served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Arenda L. Wright Allen of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, as well as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Bonnie Jones at the Hampton Circuit Court.

• Assisted in pro bono matter in responding sufficiently to request for evidence demanding decades-old documents from international jurisdictions, securing client’s permanent U.S. residency.
• Assisted in resolving coverage dispute over pollution legal liability insurance short of litigation.
• Assisted in excluding opposing party’s claims-handling expert report in connection with motion for summary judgment, leading to settlement of the case.
