Robert counsels real estate stakeholders in all areas of commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, financing, development, operation, leasing, and disposition of multifamily, retail, medical, warehouse/distribution, and timber properties. From initial negotiations to ultimate disposition, Robert brings a practical and collaborative approach to structuring, documenting, and executing transactions across asset classes and industries.

Robert has significant experience representing developers in the ground-up development of multifamily, medical office, retail, and logistics projects throughout the Southeast. Additionally, Robert routinely represents national banks and noninstitutional lenders in a variety of loan transactions, including construction, mezzanine, lines of credit, and term loans.

• Represented a real estate developer in connection with multiple retail and medical office projects in the Southeast.
• Represented a sponsor in multiple transactions involving a $75 million portfolio of affordable housing projects in Miami, FL, including the acquisition, bridge financing, permanent financing, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit transactions.
• Represented a borrower as lead attorney in a $68.5 million construction loan for the renovation of a 622-unit historic apartment project in Atlanta, GA.
• Represented an industrial developer in the acquisition, joint venture, financing, leasing, and sale of an approximately $40 million multiple-phase distribution and logistics center in Spartanburg, SC.
• Represented a leading timber investment management organization in hundreds of dispositions and other transactions (including infrastructure easements, oil, gas, and mineral transactions, and renewable energy projects) throughout the U.S.
• Represented the owner of a downtown Atlanta data center in connection with multiple telecommunications and office leases.
