Prior to joining the firm, Shi worked for a boutique litigation firm where her practice involved civil litigation and government investigations. Before that, she was a trial attorney in the Civil Litigation Division of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia.

She has extensive experience in all phases of discovery and discovery-related disputes, including taking and defending numerous depositions. In addition, Shi has drafted numerous pretrial motions, motion in limine, post-trial motions, and appellate briefs, along with confidential settlement statements for mediators.

  • Obtained an $18 million verdict against the Islamic Republic of Iran on behalf of victim of state-sponsored terrorism.
  • Served as trial counsel in five federal civil rights cases that resulted in winning defense verdicts on all statutory claims See Brown, et al. v. District of Columbia, 1:10-cv-2250 (class action litigation); Battle v. District of Columbia, et al., 1:12-cv-1202-ESH; Richardson v. Korson, 1:10-cv-2049-JEB; Primas v.
