Susan is a fellow of The Pepper Center for Public Service. The Pepper Center draws on the talents of the firm’s retired partners and senior attorneys to wrestle with tough problems facing our communities. Through the Center, these attorneys study, analyze, and work to resolve problems that affect the lives of people in our communities.

Susan focused her practice on employment counseling and employment litigation. She counseled employers on compliance with federal and state employment laws, including hiring, discipline, medical leaves and separations; conducting investigations of employee conduct, including harassment; negotiating and drafting employment and separation agreements and developing employment policies. She also defended employers in litigation of employment discrimination claims, wrongful discharge claims, and claims under federal and state employment-related statutes such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage payment and collection laws.

Susan writes and speaks extensively about developments in employment law, including harassment, discrimination and performance management.
