Our Labor + Employment attorneys bring both broad experience in courtroom advocacy and deep knowledge of labor and employment laws to address any type of employment-related dispute that may arise. Our reach extends to all venues — federal and state courts, as well as arbitration and mediation — and encompasses single-plaintiff, class and collective action lawsuits and appeals, as well as government agency investigations or enforcement actions.
Our Services
Wrongful Termination and Hiring Claims:
We defend employers accused of wrongful failure to hire and wrongful termination.
Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation:
We regularly represent employers in defending against individual and class claims involving any characteristic protected by federal, state or local law, including but not limited to protected activity, race, national origin, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, marital status, age, disability, and religion.
Leave and Accommodation Claims:
We represent clients in leave and accommodation cases brought under the ADA, the FMLA, and state disability and leave laws.
Restrictive Covenants and Trade Secrets:
We regularly litigate cases involving alleged breaches of non-compete, non-solicit, non-disclosure, and fiduciary duty obligations, as well as theft of trade secrets.
Wage and Hour Claims:
We defend against claims related to classification of employees as exempt or non-exempt under the FLSA, minimum wage, overtime, break time, and vacation pay issues.
Independent Contractor Classification:
We have a very strong, nationally recognized practice defending companies in connection with their classification of workers as independent contractors, rather than employees.
Whistleblower Actions:
We represent employers in whistleblower actions and related retaliation claims.
Our Approach
We help clients recognize cases that can and should be resolved early, identifying strategies that provide the best opportunity for settlement when it aligns with the client’s goals. When settlement is not feasible or in the client’s best interests, we litigate aggressively and zealously on their behalf.
