Troutman Pepper Attorneys Pen Pennsylvania Chapter of ABA Consumer Protection Law Book
PHILADELPHIA – Jeremy Heep and Samuel Rogers, attorneys based in Troutman Pepper’s Philadelphia office, teamed up with Troutman Pepper alumna Martha Guarnieri to co-author a chapter in the recently released American Bar Association publication titled State Consumer Protection Law. The treatise synthesizes consumer protection law into a coherent and objective summary of court decisions, enforcement actions, and regulations.
This compilation of the consumer protection laws of all fifty states and the District of Columbia is regarded as a unique and powerful tool for both frequent consumer protection law practitioners and those who occasionally practice in the area. Considering that no two states have identical consumer protection laws, the publication has a chapter devoted to each state’s laws, with nearly all chapters penned by an attorney practicing in that state.
The Pennsylvania-based trio co-authored their home state’s chapter, which addresses the scope of the statutes, elements of a cause of action, private enforcement and remedies, and government enforcement and remedies.
The book evolved from the Consumer Protection Law Developments, which was last published in 2016 and covered both state and federal consumer protection law. To provide a more in-depth analysis of consumer protection laws, the American Bar Association Antitrust Section has expanded the publication into three volumes covering state, federal, and international consumer protection laws. State Consumer Protection Law is the first of the three volumes to be published and is available for purchase on the ABA’s online store.
