A Message From Firm Leaders
As we move into the second half of 2026, we are excited to share several highlights from the past few months and spotlight upcoming events taking place across our offices.
We recently welcomed six new lateral partners across several of our practices: Ben Cheatham (Tax + Benefits), Julie-Anne Lutfi (Health Care + Life Sciences Transactional), Mac Marshall (Energy Transactional), Lara Nichols (Energy Regulatory), Rakhee Patel (Bankruptcy + Restructuring), and Kate Pennartz (Real Estate). Their experience and leadership further strengthen our capabilities and support the continued growth of our practices and industries.
We also recently hosted our annual firmwide Week of Service, during which more than 900 attorneys and business professionals volunteered in 84 service projects benefiting 72 organizations in the communities where we live and work. Service is a deeply ingrained firm tradition, and we look forward to continuing to build on that commitment at Troutman Pepper Locke — not only through initiatives like Week of Service but also through our pro bono work and the Pepper Center for Public Service.
Troutman Pepper Locke’s 2026 summer associate program recently wrapped up after nine weeks of immersive, hands-on experience for more than 100 students representing 46 law schools nationwide. These exceptional individuals contributed meaningfully to client matters, absorbed the firm’s culture, and demonstrated the talent and drive that will define the next generation of the legal profession. We are grateful for the energy and insight they brought to our teams this summer.
In the months ahead, we look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming alumni receptions and CLE programs across the firm. You can learn more about these events, along with additional firm news and updates, throughout this newsletter.
We hope to see you soon.

Communities in Action at Troutman Pepper Locke
Troutman Pepper Locke’s dedication to service remains a cornerstone of our culture. Our attorneys, retirees, business professionals, and alumni continually engage in meaningful service activities, and we are pleased to highlight a few initiatives that reflect the strength of that commitment across the firm.
Week of Service
As noted in our leaders’ message, over 900 attorneys and business professionals came together to volunteer for the firm’s annual Week of Service. Volunteers engaged in 84 service projects to support veterans, food banks, schools, animal shelters, environmental clean-up projects, and so many others.
We thank our office administrators, team captains, and volunteers for their efforts and dedication. It is inspiring to see this tradition of service and community-building continue to grow across the firm.
Pro Bono Practice
Troutman Pepper Locke’s pro bono work continues to make a real and lasting difference for individuals and communities across the country. The firm’s 2025 Pro Bono Report highlights tireless efforts to overturn a wrongful conviction, secure education benefits for veterans, streamline access to justice through eDiscovery and technology, and expand community clinics through client partnerships.
We are deeply grateful to the Pro Bono team, attorneys, clients, and partner organizations whose dedication drives this work forward.

The Pepper Center for Public Service
The Pepper Center for Public Service is a unique organization that draws on the talents of the firm’s retired partners and senior attorneys to wrestle with tough problems facing our communities. We are pleased to share that work continues to be busy for the Pepper Center Fellows in 2026!
The Law and Justice Mentoring Program (LJMP) completes its fifth year this year, with the largest group of participants ever — 20 students from four public high schools! The joint program with the School District of Philadelphia and Heights Philadelphia introduces students interested in the law to a variety of issues and provides an opportunity to meet those engaged in legal related jobs. This year LJMP held six full-day sessions during the school year, which were based at Troutman Pepper Locke’s Philadelphia office. Students learned about and discussed relevant legal issues, as well as met with, among others, the Philadelphia District Attorney and Deputy Police Commissioner, University of Pennsylvania’s Carey School of Law students, and judges of the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court (a state trial court) and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Arranged by the Pepper Center, fifteen students have been placed in five-week paid summer internships with various public interest law firms, as well as the District Attorney’s Office and the City’s Law Department. A Pepper Center Fellow is assigned to each student as a coach/mentor. And because they are enrolled in LJMP, our students also can participate in a college advising program that covers high school and college.
In addition to its standing Task Forces on Education, Civics, and Immigration, which all remain busy, the Pepper Center has recently launched a Task Force on Affordable Housing and Homelessness. Fellows from multiple Troutman Pepper Locke offices are working together to identify and staff projects in their communities to address these pressing issues and will host a live and remote program on October 13 on community land trusts. All are welcome!
To learn more about the Pepper Center programs or applying to be a Fellow, please contact Amy Ginensky or visit the Pepper Center webpage.
Our attorneys and business professionals are deeply committed to various volunteer and charitable endeavors, and we appreciate their dedication to service.
