Firm Recognized as Winner for Excellence in Innovations in Diversity and Inclusion and Finalist for E-Discovery Technology and Innovation
NEW YORK – Troutman Pepper Locke has been named a winner in the Innovations in Diversity and Inclusion category and a finalist in the E-Discovery Technology and Innovation category for the Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards. Additionally, Alison Grounds, founder and managing partner of Troutman eMerge, was named a winner of the Monica Bay Women of Legal Tech Award. Presented by Legaltech News, the awards honor individuals and organizations who have been at the forefront of legal innovation over the past year, across three categories: law firms, legal departments, and technology providers.
Monica Bay Women of Legal Tech Award Winner | Alison Grounds
The award honors women who have achieved notable successes and made significant contributions to legal innovation. Grounds was recognized for her exceptional leadership and strategic vision in founding Troutman eMerge, which provides integrated discovery services and information governance consulting. Her efforts have positioned Troutman eMerge as a pioneer in the legal tech industry, driving efficiency and cost savings for clients, while fostering diversity within the legal tech community.
Innovations in Diversity and Inclusion Winner | Troutman Pepper Locke
Recognizing law firms and in-house legal departments that have successfully implemented initiatives to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion, Troutman Pepper Locke was honored for its Engage tool. This innovative tool addresses unconscious biases in staffing decisions by using objective criteria to allocate workloads equitably. Its successful implementation has led to significant adoption across practice groups, enhancing transparency, accountability, and associate empowerment.
E-Discovery Technology and Innovation Finalist | Troutman eMerge
This category recognizes law firms that demonstrate ROI from implementing technology to improve the e-discovery process. Troutman eMerge is a finalist for its integration of advanced AI technologies, including Relativity’s aiR suite and the custom-developed Flywheel platform, which enhanced efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. The project, completed in 18 months, reduced review costs by 40 percent and decreased time to completion by 50 percent, setting new industry standards.
All Leaders in Tech Law Award winners were determined by an external judging panel and announced during the Legalweek 2025 conference in New York on March 24.
