Drawing from more than 20 of experience as a litigator, Tambry represents public and private companies in privacy, cybersecurity, and complex commercial matters throughout the U.S. As a partner in the firm’s Privacy + Cyber group, Tambry focuses her practice on representing companies in disputes brought under federal and state privacy, security, and data use laws.

  • Defending a security and data protection company in a putative class action involving common law and statutory claims, including alleged violations of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the California Information Practices Act (IPA), and California’s Unfair Competition Law arising out of a data breach.
  • Defending a community health center in putative class actions involving common law and statutory claims, including alleged violations of the California Legal Remedies Act (CLRA), California Customer Records Act (CRA), and California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA) arising out of a data breach.

  • Defended medical device company in putative class action involving claims of negligence, breach of implied contract, violation of CCPA, unjust enrichment, and breach of confidence arising out of alleged data breach; voluntary dismissal obtained prior to demurrer.
  • Served as lead counsel in a two-week jury trial defending sureties against claim for breach of construction performance bonds, resulting in a defense verdict.
  • Served as lead counsel in a two-week bench trial defending an individual client against a claim for breach of oral contract and asserting cross-claims for breach of oral contract and fraud, resulting in a judgment in favor of client on all claims, and an award of all monetary damages sought under cross-claims.

  • Defended a large hospital and health plan in an action challenging the constitutionality of California’s peer review system; case dismissed with prejudice by the district court, dismissal affirmed by the Ninth Circuit, and petition for writ of certiorari denied by the U.S. Supreme Court.
  • Defended a hospital and several of its executives in an action brought by a former physician asserting claims of racial discrimination, retaliation, and harassment in violation of 42 U.S.C. § 1981, tortious interference with existing contracts, and declaratory relief; summary judgment granted and costs awarded.
