Troutman Pepper Advises Fauquier Bankshares in Virginia National Merger
RICHMOND, Va. – Troutman Pepper recently counseled Fauquier Bankshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: FBSS), the holding company for The Fauquier Bank, in its merger with Virginia National Bankshares Corporation (OTCQX: VABK), the holding company for Virginia National Bank. This merger of equals creates a top 10 community bank in Virginia with approximately $1.6 billion in total assets and more than $1.0 billion in assets under management. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2021, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals. The combined company will operate under the Virginia National brand and serve clients throughout Virginia in Charlottesville, Warrenton, Winchester and the counties of Albemarle, Fauquier, Frederick and Prince William. According to the company press release, it would also accelerate market expansions in Richmond and Northern Virginia.
