WASHINGTON D.C. – Kim Phan, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Privacy + Cyber Practice Group, has been recognized as a 2023 Wonderful Woman by Lawyers of Color, a nonprofit that promotes diversity in the legal profession.
Honorees are chosen through a selection committee consisting of editorial staff, fellows, and advisers that take time to review the accomplishments of notable diverse women in the field. There are also opportunities for honorees to be nominated by colleagues.
“To be chosen for this award is an extreme honor. Looking through the list of names, I see a lot of successful and diverse attorneys that are making a mark on the profession,” said Phan. “And while I am excited to see how far I’ve come; this is only the beginning. Phan’s involvement in diversity outside of the firm can also be seen through her work with the National Conference of Vietnamese American Attorneys. She served as Secretary of the organization from 2021 – 2022 and continues to foster a community of diverse legal professionals through her involvement.
Phan focuses her practice on assisting companies with data breach prevention and response, including establishing effective security programs prior to a data breach and the assessment of breach response obligations following an incident.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Troutman Pepper client HMP Global, a leading omnichannel healthcare education and events company, has entered into an agreement to acquire Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI), a privately held medical education company and distinguished leader in psychopharmacology-based CNS (Central Nervous System) education. BOSTON – Troutman Pepper client MVM Partners, a health care investment firm focused on commercial stage companies, recently led the close of a $39 million Series C financing for CurvaFix, a developer of medical devices to repair fractures in curved bones. Read a press release about the financing.
