Friday, September 15 • 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. PT

Join Troutman Pepper’s Privacy + Cyber team on Friday September 15 at the CISO/CSO/General Counsel Summit, an invitation-only event during the annual Converge Security Conference at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, CA.

The Summit, co-hosted by the Innovation Shipyard Alliance, is intended to give cybersecurity, information security, corporate security, and other security executives leading-edge insight into the latest security trends, technologies, and enterprise best practices.

High-profile privacy and cybersecurity events — including Twitter’s whistleblowers and Uber’s criminal trial — have underscored the need for General Counsels (GC) and Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) / Chief Security Officers (CSOs) to collaborate effectively. Close coordination with these leaders, and others throughout their organizations, is necessary to create and execute a best-in-class information security program.

This annual full-day Security Conference draws top security executives and thought leaders from across the cybersecurity space. The agenda will include:

  • An opening plenary session, led by Malcolm Harkins, a former Chief Security & Privacy Officer at Intel Corporation, current Chief Security and Trust Officer for Epiphany Systems, and independent cybersecurity advisor to clients across the globe.

  • An opportunity for emerging companies to pitch their products or services to industry leaders in order to receive constructive feedback and to explore possible synergies.

  • The GC/CISO/CSO Collaboration Workshop, an immersive afternoon training led by attorneys at Troutman Pepper, designed to help GCs and CISOs/CSOs become more effective in their roles.

Prospective attendees may apply to attend the conference here.

As a co-sponsor of the Converge Security CISO/CSO/General Counsel Summit, we invite you to register for The GC/CISO/CSO Collaboration Workshop.

GC/CISO/CSO Collaboration Workshop

Troutman Pepper’s national team of attorneys and technologists applies decades of hands-on experience with all legal aspects of privacy and cybersecurity.

This breakout session will help GCs and CISOs/CSOs become privacy and cybersecurity “all-stars” for their organizations. Our immersive, half-day experience will equip GCs and CISOs/CSOs with practical guidance and immediate action items on several of the most critical areas, including:

  • An actionable discussion of the role and expectations placed upon the GC and CISO/CSO and the challenges they face, while highlighting how privacy and cybersecurity is the responsibility of both GCs and CISOs/CSOs.

  • A discussion regarding the dismantling of organizations’ silo approach.

  • Creating a culture of collaboration among business executives and the board of directors.

  • Assessing the risk tolerance of the organization in light of its current data processing and operations.

  • Understanding the most recent types of threats, including those involving ransomware (e.g., should we pay the ransom?), and creating a proper incident response plan.

  • Reporting protocols for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Creating budgeting and resource allocation mechanisms that align with the company’s privacy and security objectives.

  • Understanding the pros and cons of cyber insurance and how it may fit within your organization’s risk management plan.
