Friends of the Lower Appomattox River Names Troutman Pepper’s Kyle Kohler ‘Volunteer of the Year’

Richmond, Va. – Kyle Kohler, an associate in Troutman Pepper’s Richmond office, has been recognized for his pro bono service to the Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR) with the organization’s Volunteer of the Year award. FOLAR’s Community River Impact Awards honor individuals and organizations who have demonstrated exemplary service and philanthropy to conserve and protect Virginia’s Appomattox River.

“Kyle has provided sustained and outstanding pro bono legal work that has helped FOLAR to successfully acquire land that will be protected forever as public green space advancing FOLAR’s mission to conserve and protect the Appomattox River for all to enjoy,” notes FOLAR’s award announcement.

Kohler began volunteering with FOLAR in March of 2019 and has since helped FOLAR acquire key parcels in connection with the Appomattox River Trail, a regional trail and park system stretching along 22 miles of the Appomattox River corridor. Kohler’s legal practice focuses on a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including the purchase, sale, leasing, financing and development of commercial real estate.

FOLAR is dedicated to conserving and protecting the natural, cultural, and recreational resources along the lower Appomattox River.
