We are proud to announce that James D. Rosener was notified by the French Ambassador to the U.S. that by decree of the President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron, he was awarded the Legion of Honor at the rank of Chevalier. The Legion of Honor, established by Napoleon in 1802, is the highest civilian and military award by the Republic of France. While mainly awarded to French citizens, foreign nationals are awarded the insignia of the Chevalier of the Legion of Honor for contributions in business, culture, and philanthropy. In Rosener’s case, the citation notes his excellent career as a lawyer in matters between France and the U.S. and leadership of the Chamber of Commerce in Paris and New York. The citation also notes his leadership of the American Battle Monuments Foundation and activities in support of the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial Foundations. He will receive the insignia of Knight in the Legion of Honor at a ceremony in the coming weeks.
